The 229-meter cargo ship ran aground in the Bosphorus, after which the movement of ships through the strait was temporarily suspended, the Turkish Coast Guard said.
“The 229-meter vessel Alexis ran aground in front of Istanbul’s Haydarpasa breakwater due to equipment failure,” Haber Global quoted a report as saying.
